Four mathematics and engineering majors competed in the 7th Annual Collegiate Mathematics Competition, sponsored by the Northeastern Section of the Mathematical Association of America (NES/MAA).  The contest happened at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, MA just before Thanksgiving during the NES/MAA Fall section meeting.

Hannah Soper (Math ’16), Robyn Taylor (Math ’13), Jasper Barlich (Math ’13), and Andrew Mills (Mech. Eng. ’13) at the NES/MAA Collegiate Mathematics Competition at Bridgewater State University.

The competition pits teams of two or three students from all over New England against each other for two hours of problem solving.  The two 2-person teams from Norwich did very well, placing 8th and 18th in the competition.

You can view the competition problems the students had to solve (and the solutions) by clicking here.
